Greeting and Seating Guests:
Welcome customers warmly when they arrive at the restaurant and escort them to their tables.
Provide menus and inform guests of the day's specials or any notable menu items.
Taking Orders:
Take food and beverage orders from customers, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
Provide recommendations to guests, answer questions about menu items, and accommodate special dietary requests.
Ensure that orders are entered into the point-of-sale (POS) system or relayed to the kitchen accurately.
Serving Food and Beverages:
Serve food and drinks to customers in a timely and professional manner.
Ensure that all food and beverage items are delivered correctly, including any special instructions such as modifications or dietary restrictions.
Clear empty plates, glasses, and utensils promptly to maintain a clean and tidy dining area.
Customer Service:
Maintain a friendly and attentive attitude toward customers throughout their meal.
Check in with guests during their meal to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns or additional requests.
Respond to any customer complaints or issues with a calm and professional attitude, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Maintaining Cleanliness:
Keep tables clean and tidy by wiping down surfaces after guests leave and between courses.
Ensure that the dining area is organized and that the floor and service areas are clean.
Setting Up and Closing the Restaurant:
Set tables with clean linens, glassware, utensils, and condiments before guests are seated.
Prepare the dining area for the next set of customers by resetting tables, cleaning up, and organizing service areas.
Assist with closing procedures, which may include cleaning, restocking supplies, and ensuring the restaurant is ready for the next shift.
Handling Payments:
Present the check to customers and process payments, whether in cash or through card transactions.
Ensure that the customer’s payment is handled accurately, including giving back the correct change if applicable.
Collaboration with Team Members:
Work closely with other team members, including kitchen staff, bartenders, and other food servers, to ensure smooth operations and high-quality service.
Communicate effectively with the kitchen to ensure special requests and modifications are understood and executed correctly.
Help with refilling drink orders, bringing bread or water, and assisting colleagues during busy periods.
Promoting Specials and Upselling:
Promote daily specials, drinks, and desserts to customers to enhance the dining experience and increase sales.
Upsell items by suggesting complementary items, such as appetizers, drinks, or desserts.
Adhering to Safety and Health Regulations:
Follow food safety standards, including handling food and beverages with care, maintaining proper hygiene, and keeping personal cleanliness.
