Job description

Job Purpose

dnata is one of the world's largest air services providers offering ground handling, cargo, travel, and flight catering services across five continents. We operate in 38 countries and 136 airports globally.

As a Flight Watch Coordinator, you will plan, collaborate and control all ground handling activities, which includes pro-actively supporting and engaging in delivering the OAL & Flydubai baggage operation on assigned flights. Act as the point of contact for airlines and teams for flight related information in order to achieve safe and on-time departure in line with the SLAs of dnata airport operations. The intent of this role is to solve problems before they become a problem for the front line delivery teams to solve, which impacts or disrupts the operational activities and deliver end to end aircraft turnaround coordination.

In This Role, You Will

  • Oversee the flight schedules and review aircraft ready state to ensure on-time flight arrival and departures across all airports.
  • Oversee operational requirements related to baggage/cargo and passenger prior to arrival/departure.
  • Brief dAO core supervision on the flight details to ensure that flight requirements are covered.
  • Coordinate all activities (above and below wing) for a safe timely Turnaround process.
  • Record the provision of additional ground services above the agreed SLA to ensure accurate flight wise billing is undertaken, to protect from revenue leakage.
  • Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Implement and monitor airline requirements according to SLA/ASR and provide effective engagement with the team on the day of operations.
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices.
  • Act as the focal point on the day of operations for a particular flight, make the required decisions and provide guidance.
  • Collect relevant flight briefings from Airline representatives to ensure resources are correctly allocated.
  • Monitor the time schedules of flights through AACS to ensure that the team on the day of operations are informed and updated on any changes/challenges.
  • Investigate significant flight delays and any breaches of SLAs to ensure that corrective action measures are taken and the appropriate report is created.

Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in a scientific field (Science, Business Administration, Commerce) or Diploma in ground handling / airport operations.
  • Bachelor Degree Holder: 2-4 years of experience in ground handling / airport operations or Diploma Holder: 4-6 years of experience in ground handling / airport operations.
  • Advanced understanding of Baggage Operations.
  • Advanced understanding of Load Control.
  • Advanced understanding of the usage of Departure Control System.
  • Advanced understanding of the usage of AACS, BELT and RTC.
  • Advanced understanding of Airline Requirement and Customer SLAs.
  • Proficient understanding of the Turnaround Process.
  • Basic knowledge of weight and balance.
  • Proficient in Data collection and analysis.
