Job Purpose

To assist the MTSM Manager in the maintenance of the Vehicles fleet to ensure safe and efficient transportation of LPG.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Plans, schedules and supervises preventive maintenance of all EMGAS vehicles.
2. Plans and ensures annual certification of LPG EMGAS tankers & trailers with Civil Defense and timely registration with RTA.
3. Carries out breakdown analysis for repetitive breakdowns and develops preventive solutions.
4. Liaises with suppliers, fabricators, mechanic workshops, and supervises service jobs carried out by third parties on vehicles.
5. Implements and carries out predictive maintenance strategies.
6. Maintains and monitors performance of EMGAS vehicles in terms of fuel efficiency and takes appropriate corrective action.
7. Maintains all documentation related to vehicle maintenance & calibration as per MS requirements.
8. Carries out incoming inspection of spares, tires, and other vehicle consumables.
9. Monitors driver performance through fleet tracking devices fitted on all LPG tankers and trailers.
10. Imparts relevant on-the-job training to the mechanics.
11. Liaises with insurance repairers for all accident-related jobs.
12. Monitors and maintains inventory of spares related to vehicles to ensure minimum downtime.
13. Carries out periodic HVD defensive driving training based on Smiths training.
14. Conducts practical evaluation of driving skills during recruitment of HVD.
15. Develops annual OPEX requirement for EMGAS fleet operation & maintenance.
16. Implements business excellence principles like 5S in vehicle repair shop.
17. Carries out internal audits as per integrated management requirements.
18. Carries out periodical disposal of scrap, sale of used oil, etc.
19. Ensures all vehicle maintenance works are carried out as per laid down EHS policies, procedures, regulations, and objectives.
20. Any other related jobs that may be assigned by the line manager.

Experience

A diploma in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering from a reputed institute with a minimum of 10 years of experience. Oil & Gas industry experience preferred. Experience in hazardous goods transportation required. Good knowledge in all aspects of diesel vehicle maintenance and fault analysis essential. Trained and experienced in ISO management systems. Should be conversant with MS-Office Suite, especially Excel. Good interpersonal communication skills are necessary.
