We are seeking an experienced Fire Detection Systems- Technical Application Engineer to join our team in Dubai.
What you’ll do:
- The ideal candidate will have a high level of technical competence and a good understanding of Fire Detection systems. Knowledge of the design of systems and local and applicable codes will be key.
- To assist customers and consultants in the design and specification of fire detection systems, including equipment design/selection, providing a full technical turnkey solution to any site requirement.
- Expert in fire detection system design, correctly siting equipment to meet local legislative requirements and adequately protect the assessed risk.
- Producing detailed arrangement drawings, schematics, and bill of materials whilst ensuring that specific equipment design parameters have been adhered to and that the system will operate correctly when called upon.
- Understanding the wide range of Eaton solutions and being able to both design new systems as well as upgrades in the most customer-centric way. (Knowledge of legacy and other manufacturer equipment is highly desirable)
- Willing to visit customers and train and assist them in using Eaton Fire Detection solutions.
- Helping to solve technical issues as a first port of call before calling in the technical support team.
- Must be up to date on the latest electrical codes and specifically Fire Detection standards in the geographic region.
- Building a good working knowledge of commercial support systems, and Eaton commercial operating methods, enabling an exceptional level of presales support to the customer.
- Authoring and critiquing technical manuals, being involved in the production of commercial and technical documentation to accompany new product introductions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a reputed institute.
- 5+ years' experience in Fire Detection Systems.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of EN, UL, and other applicable codes and standards in the region.
- Proficient in design software.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
