Job description

Job summary:

To manage the organisation's operational (OPEX) and capital expenditure (CAPEX) budgeting and forecasting processes. Ensure financial stability and strategic planning through accurate budget preparation, financial forecasting, and insightful analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and prepare annual budgets for the organisation, aligning financial resources with strategic objectives and operational plans
  • Collaborate with department heads to gather budget inputs, set financial targets, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives
  • Develop and implement budget templates and guidelines to streamline the budgeting process
  • Conduct regular financial forecasting and analysis for Opex and Capex to provide insights into the organisation's financial performance
  • Monitor actual performance against forecasts and budgets, identifying variances and providing actionable insights
  • Update forecasts based on changing business conditions, new information, or strategic shifts
  • Monitor Opex and Capex budget performance against targets and provide regular reports to senior management
  • Identify and address budget variances, ensuring effective cost control measures are in place for both operational and capital expenses
  • Conduct budget revisions and adjustments, accommodating changes in business conditions, strategic priorities, or unforeseen expenses
  • Provide recommendations on the allocation of the budget between capital expenditures (CAPEX) and operational expenditures (OPEX)
  • Provide recommendations on budgetary control and financial decision-making based on operational analysis and economic trends
  • Collaborate with other teams to gather and analyse financial data for budgeting purposes
  • Ensure compliance with budgeting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Policy, Procedures, Process and Systems:

  • Follow the operational strategy in compliance with group delegation of authority policy
  • Ensure the compliance of organisation's policy, systems, processes, procedures, and controls in line with group delegation of authority policy so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service in a consistent manner

Reporting:

  • Ensure that all reports are completed timely and comply with the business and organisation's policies and standards
  • Manage the preparation of periodical management reports and progress reports to keep the business senior management informed about the progress of various initiatives and to facilitate decision-making
