This major UK and international law firm has an excellent new opportunity for an ambitious Associate or Senior Associate to join their busy and thriving Financial Regulation & Fintech practice in Dubai. The role will focus on supporting a variety of major clients across the areas of FS regulatory compliance, financial structuring, fintech services and the development of new financial products and platforms. As such, the role will require a thorough understanding of the regulatory environment in the financial services sector, particularly in the context of the Middle East, as well as a curious and innovative mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Providing strategic FSR legal advice to banks, fintech disrupters, insurance companies, and private equity firms.
  2. Assisting clients to leverage technology to drive operational efficiency and innovation and navigate regulatory challenges.
  3. Supporting clients throughout the licensing journey, from ideation to scaling market leaders.
  4. Offering expert guidance on the issuance of digital assets, payments, crowdfunding, and related regulatory/compliance issues.
  5. Collaborating with global FSR teams to deliver innovative solutions and strategies.

Within an established and thriving practice, you'll play a key role in developing ongoing relationships with an existing client base, while also being actively involved in identifying and pitching for new opportunities. You can expect early stage responsibility in a highly supportive and collaborative environment, across a range of areas, working with the firm's international client base and in collaboration with their other regional and international offices.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Qualified lawyer with a current practicing certificate (or equivalent) and a degree from a recognized institution.
  2. Technically strong and commercially savvy with first-rate analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  3. In-depth understanding of the financial regulation sector in the Middle East (including key regulatory frameworks and market trends).
  4. Experience of advising on technology transactions, data protection, and cybersecurity would be a plus (though is not essential).
