Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Regulation and Fintech Lawyer to join our Middle East team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in advising clients on regulatory compliance, financial structuring, fintech services and the development of new financial products and platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of the regulatory environment in the financial services sector, particularly in the context of the Middle East, as well as a curious and innovative mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and advise clients on various aspects of their business operations within the financial regulatory, fintech and financial services sector.
• Provide comprehensive support throughout the licensing journey, from ideation to scaling market leaders.
• Offer expert guidance on the issuance of digital assets, payments, and related regulatory and compliance issues.
• Collaborate with global financial services teams to deliver innovative solutions and strategies.
• Navigate the fast-evolving landscape of digital assets, payments, crowdfunding, and BNPL regulations.
• Provide strategic legal advice to banks, fintech disrupters, insurance companies, and private equity firms.
• Help clients leverage technology to drive operational efficiency and innovation and navigate regulatory changes.
• Focus on sectors such as financial services, technology, retail and e-commerce.

Key Requirements:

• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial services and regulation, fintech law, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance.
• Education: A qualified lawyer with a practicing certificate (or equivalent) with a degree from a recognized institution.
• Skills: Technically strong and commercially savvy; excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills; ability to work independently as well as part of a hardworking team; interpersonal skills necessary for a client-facing role.
• Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the financial regulation sector in the Middle East, including key regulatory frameworks and market trends. Experience with technology transactions, data protection and cybersecurity is a plus.
• Languages: Fluency in English (both written and oral) is a must; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
