Financial Controller

Salary – 25,000-30,000 AED/month + benefits

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Chartered Accountant or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with a track record in managing AP/AR, budgeting, and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of international and UAE-specific accounting regulations and procedures.
• Demonstrated proficiency with cloud-based accounting software (Xero experience preferred).
• Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present financial insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• Self-motivated, organized, and capable of meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities:

Financial Operations & Controls:

• Oversee all financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable to maintain healthy cash flow and flag any potential issues.
• Ensure compliance with UAE financial regulations and taxation requirements.
• Coordinate with external assurance providers for audits and related compliance needs.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

• Prepare, monitor, and refine annual and quarterly budgets.
• Deliver periodic financial reports, forecasts, and KPIs to leadership.
• Provide strategic recommendations based on financial analyses and projections.

Accounting & Reporting:

• Lead bookkeeping and ensure accurate, timely financial records and reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, and profit/loss reports for decision-making and stakeholder review.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.

Process Improvement & Systems Management:

• Maintain and optimize use of cloud-based accounting software (preferably Xero) for efficiency and accuracy.
• Implement and refine financial policies and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness.
• Support the continuous improvement of financial processes to accommodate growth and complexity.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Financial Controller with 7-10 years of professional experience to oversee and optimize the company’s financial operations. This role is integral to ensuring that our financial processes run smoothly, transparently, and in compliance with local regulations.

The Financial Controller will manage cash flow, oversee accounts payable and receivable, coordinate with external assurance providers, handle budgeting and forecasting, and support the company’s strategic financial planning.
