Montage Gold is recruiting a Financial Analyst based in Dubai.
Role Purpose
The Financial Analyst plays a pivotal role within the Corporate Finance Department, directly supporting the Financial Reporting and Planning Manager in key areas. This role involves contributing to the preparation of external financial reports, assisting the implementation of consolidation tool and Workiva, and conducting internal audits. With strong expertise in IFRS, financial reporting, and internal controls, the Financial Analyst ensures accuracy, transparency, and compliance in financial statements, and the work is aligned with Montage’s values and policies.
Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties
External reporting
- Assisting in preparation of quarterly & annual financial statements, MD&A, AIF in an accurate, complete, and timely fashion under IFRS and Ontario Securities Commission requirements.
- Assisting in managing external audits.
- Coordinating the month end and year end process.
- Assisting with developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
- Assisting in preparation of accounting memos on complex transactions.
- Assisting in preparation of ESTMA and other regulatory reporting.
- Reviewing legal entity financial statements.
- Liaising with regional and corporate accounting teams.
Internal audit
- Plan & perform internal audits and evaluate effectiveness of internal controls.
Financial systems
- Assisting in design and implement consolidation tool.
- Assisting in design and implement Workiva.
- Act as a super user for consolidation tool and Workiva after implementation.
Others
- Actively identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance department.
- Assist in ad-hoc activities of finance, accounting and administration.
- Comply with the Company’s policies.
Qualifications & Skills Requirements
- University degree in business, finance or a related field with a concentration in accounting.
- Accounting designation (CPA, ACCA, CA or equivalent).
- Solid experience with external reporting requirements for publicly traded companies, financial controls, and extensive IFRS technical accounting knowledge.
- 5+ years progressive experience within finance, including 2+ years in industry.
- Previous work experience at a “Big 4” accounting firm is an asset.
- Comfortable working with multi-jurisdictional entities in fast-paced global environment.
- Experience with Workiva would be valuable.
- Self-motivated with a positive collaborative attitude.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to travel.
Hierarchy Relationship
Reporting to the Financial Reporting and Planning Manager.
Working Environment
Position based in Dubai office with frequent business travels.
