Job description

The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and compliance while supporting the Company's overall strategic objectives. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a proactive approach to improving profitability and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Financial Management and Reporting:

  • Prepare accurate and timely Month-to-Date (MtD) and Year-to-Date (YtD) trial balances by the 7th working day of each month.
  • Maintain an 8-week forward-looking operational cash flow forecast.
  • Develop monthly long-term cash flow re-forecasts aligned with the financial plan.
  • Submit a comprehensive monthly board report on the Company's operations to Group Management by the 10th calendar day of the month.
  • Ensure precise assessment and valuation of biological assets.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Compile and deliver the Company's annual budget for Group approval, covering:
  • CAPEX (Capital Expenditures).
  • OPEX (Operational Expenditures).
  • Cash Flow Planning.
  • Human Resources and related plans.
  • Periodically review and revise budgets as requested by shareholders.

Cost Optimization and Profitability:

  • Identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities and present actionable recommendations to management.
  • Provide insights on revenue dislocations and pricing strategies to enhance profitability.
  • Forecast biological asset performance with accuracy.
  • Monitor revenue realization and collaborate with the Sales Team to ensure timely collections.

Taxation and Compliance:

  • Oversee accurate and timely VAT reporting.
  • Prepare and plan for the adoption of corporate taxation in the UAE, ensuring compliance with all regulations.

Accounting and Audit:

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records using the Company's core accounting system.
  • Implement robust financial controls, including timely reconciliation of control accounts and payment processes with four-eyes approval.
  • Prepare year-end trial balances for external auditors by the end of February annually.
  • Ensure completion of the annual audit by the end of May, subject to auditor availability.

Procurement Management:

  • Build and manage an efficient procurement infrastructure to meet operational needs.
  • Evaluate suppliers, maintain a preferred supplier list, and ensure timely delivery of purchases.
  • Proactively identify procurement requirements and optimize product and pricing sourcing.
  • Lead, organize, and motivate the Finance Team to deliver objectives professionally and efficiently.
  • Collaborate constructively with the wider management team to align Finance with the Company's strategic goals, positioning the department as a key business enabler.

Payroll Administration:

  • Ensure payroll processing is accurate, compliant with local laws, and completed by the 28th of each month.
  • Support HR with final settlements, loan processing, and other payroll deductions.
  • Review and approve staff reimbursement claims.

Regulatory Compliance and Renewals:

  • Manage Company incorporation licenses, permissions, and authorizations.
  • Stay informed on regulatory changes and ensure Company compliance across all jurisdictions.
  • Safeguard regulatory integrity in all operations.

Insurance and Banking:

  • Regularly review and optimize the Company's insurance coverage to meet business needs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with banking partners to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Recommend alternative banking solutions for enhanced payment processes and fund management.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Manager to support the Company's goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree or professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA is a plus).
  • Proven experience as a Finance Manager or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of financial management principles, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of UAE VAT and corporate taxation is highly desirable.
