Job description

The Finance Director role is a key strategic position to the business, responsible for providing financial leadership and supporting the overall business strategy. This role will drive financial planning, reporting, and risk management, ensuring that the company's financial practices are aligned with growth objectives.

The Finance Director will also work closely with Shared Service teams and senior management to ensure the smooth execution of financial operations, efficient allocation of resources, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Job Description

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement financial strategies that align with business goals. Provide insights and recommendations to influence long-term financial planning and growth initiatives.
  • Lead the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans. Analyze financial performance against objectives and recommend actions to ensure that goals are met.
  • Work closely with the commercial team to drive pricing strategies and solutions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis.
  • Lead compliance and regulatory requirements, including tax filings, audits, and financial disclosures.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to help the business achieve its objectives. Work closely with operational teams to understand their financial needs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and drive operational efficiencies.
  • Implement effective cost-control measures to manage expenses and improve profitability.
  • Proactively identify and manage financial risks, including currency exposure, credit risks, and investment risks.
  • Drive a comprehensive MIS ensuring accurate, complete, timely reporting to aid effective decision-making.
  • Monitor cash flow and working capital to ensure the company has sufficient liquidity to meet its obligations and support ongoing operations.
  • Manage relationships with financial institutions and optimize the use of banking facilities.
  • Support the evaluation and analysis of investment opportunities and capital expenditures.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of robust financial systems and processes that support accuracy, efficiency, and transparency. Ensure that financial systems and reporting tools are optimized to provide actionable insights.
  • Oversee collaboration with Shared Service teams to ensure effective delivery of transactional finance functions, such as payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. Ensure processes are efficient and in compliance with internal controls.
  • Responsible for overseeing shared services delivery and reporting against agreed SLAs and recommending improvements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CFA.
  • 8+ years of Finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • 10+ years of progressive financial experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record as a financial partner to senior leadership, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with or managing Shared Service finance models is highly desirable.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
