Provide 'real-time' support and analysis as a trusted adviser to add value that will assist in decision-making and will play a key role in driving the business forward. Serve as a liaison for business units providing proactive financial insight, understanding, consultation, and support to business. Mediate between business units and the central Finance team to ensure the proper visibility of all aspects of financial performance within the business area such as budgeting, variance analysis, cost center reporting, and accrual calculations.
ACCOUNTABILITIES Key Accountabilities:
Relationships: As a liaison between the business unit and central Finance function, support business in delivering on its key financial objectives, both its cost budget as well as financial performance through efficient running of key financial controls. Liaise with sales and finance team for timely collection, overdue receivables, and bounced cheques. Liaise with the Credit Control department to accelerate the process of collections.
Facilitation: Summarize P&L and recommend a strategic action plan to the General Manager to bring performance to budgetary level, with root cause analysis. Conduct trend analysis and KPI benchmarking of activities to support the General Manager in setting targets, governing processes, and implementing best practices. Ensure effective, efficient, and accurate month-end close process across costs, capex, and balance sheet, overseeing and reviewing performance of key activities.
Operational Support: Develop and maintain new BI reports in QlikView based on the BI enhancement plan. Track business performance and trends through effective tracking tools/reports, dashboards, vehicle sales, and stock positioning for departments and locations on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Review monthly results for accuracy before the final result and prepare a reason for the deviation between actual and budgets. Communicate with the corporate Finance team for any rectification entries required before the final closing.
Planning: Lead the forecasting and budget cycles for the business area. Develop the annual operating budget, coordinate with GM to assign targets to line managers, and monitor adherence to budgetary provisions. Maintain budget information in the ERP/other systems to maintain the details of the approved budget and its utilization. Provide analysis and assessment of growth scenarios and options.
Service Delivery: Authority shall be given for certain matters as per the authority matrix. Develop and maintain performance reporting metrics such as Corporate Planner (budgeting tool) to facilitate smooth extraction of budget-related data and subsequent preparation of the budget.
Desired Candidate Profile
Know-how: Present reports to top management with emphasis on strategic elements that portray performance via balanced scorecard. Lead market and competitor studies to understand the company’s position and provide key inputs to the product development teams to assist in the design of new products, service packages, and pricing strategies.
