Job Overview
Reporting to the Business Line Manager, the Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing onsite technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting services for cryogenic equipment and systems for customers within the assigned region. This role requires hands-on experience, strong knowledge and experience in cryogenic systems, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
- Provide high level technical support to customers, handle warranty requests and respond to customer questions and queries.
- Perform hands-on commissioning, troubleshooting, service, and repair at customer site.
- Provide on-site /hands-on equipment training to the customers.
- Create field service reports and maintain service information in the company enterprise database.
- Timely and professionally handle all field service calls, follow up on all arising issues from the field service visits and timely complete and submit all required paperwork/reports.
- Communicate with the customer to ensure satisfaction and implement any necessary corrective actions.
- Prepare the service and repair reports.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Help and support skid installation as a assembler at turbo shop floor per their scope.
- Perform hands-on commissioning, troubleshooting, service, and repair of cryogenic pumps and related equipment for the LNG and industrial gases industries upon request.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a service engineer handling rotating equipment.
- Experience with cryogenic equipment whereas experience with cryogenic pumps and turboexpanders would be a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree or technical certificate in the related field, mechanical engineering preferred.
- Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented environment is essential.
- Technically competent with mechanical, electric and electronic systems.
- Can adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
- Ability to travel freely in Middle East as well as internationally as needed.
- Ability to communicate with customers at all levels.
- Technical mindset combined with a high degree of customer orientation.
- Communicates clearly and effectively.
- Well-versed in technical aspects of field projects, including rotating machinery and equipment
- Organized self-starter with the ability to proactively plan their daily work schedule.
- High energy level with ‘Right from Me’ attitude.
- Fluent spoken and written English skills are required.
- Experience working onboard LNG/LPG or bulk carriers is a plus
- Having a valid Seaman’s Book is a plus.
