Field Service Engineer

With several new projects coming up this year, and with our current projects ramping up, TractEasy is growing its autonomous vehicles business in the EMEA region.

To match the needs for deployment, maintenance, support and training, we are looking for a Field Service Engineer.

This job will be based in Dubai, and the employee will have to travel to our customers’ site frequently as well as help with the company growth in building / updating processes when working at the office or from home.

Position details

• Contract: 2 years with the possibility of extension
• Location: Dubaï
• Business travels in EMEA, mostly based in Dubai to begin with, potential travels worldwide for training purposes

Mission

As part of the global Field Services team, the Field Service Engineer will be responsible for deploying and maintaining the fleet of vehicles in the region. Additionally, you will be supporting our customers remotely when they would face an issue, and train them, remotely or on-site, for operating the autonomous vehicles.

You will also be participating in the continuous improvement of our processes and best practices, by providing regular feedback to your manager and creating or updating documents while in the office.

Activities

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinate and perform the deployment and entry into service of vehicles, with the support of the Project Manager
• Validate the vehicle setup and deployment, and participate in the product support / improvement with your on-site feedbacks
• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance interventions on the vehicles when necessary
• Hands-on installation and configuration of autonomous hardware and software components as needed
• Deliver basic and advanced training sessions, and assist trained customers in the operation and deployment of TractEasy vehicles
• Perform remote assistance to our customers through our support ticketing system when at the office
• Participate on projects feasibility studies on clients’ sites and perform the necessary assessments and reports
• Participate, along with the Project Manager, on the on-road authorisation process, by performing tests and delivering documentation to the relevant authorities
• Participate to the vehicles commissioning and on-site delivery processes
• Report risks, issues and variations in project scope to Project Managers, and participate in the development and implementation of risk management and mitigation plans
• Participate in the continuous improvement of autonomous vehicle deployment and maintenance best practices and processes.
• Maintain regular customer contact as required, to keep customer satisfaction at its highest level

Requirements

• Technician/Bachelor Degree in the Automotive or Robotic or similar field is required
• At least 3 years of experience as technician or engineer in the automotive, robotic or similar industries.
• Possess a Class 3 / standard vehicle driving license

Technical skills

• Automotive, robotic or similar field maintenance knowledge
• Appetite for automation technology
• Basic knowledge of CanBus technology, vehicle maintenance, electrical systems and hydraulic systems is a plus

• Good presentation and communication skills
• Proactive with a strong customer and team focus, as well as a passion for service excellence
• Able to work independently
• Self-starter with strong capability to interact and work in a multinational environment
• Strong technical acumen and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Languages skills

• Business fluent (written and spoken) English
• Business fluent (written and spoken) Arabic
• German or French is a plus due to the market and the company’s locations
