Fiber Optic Technician

We are looking for an experienced Fiber Optic Technician to join our team, with a strong background in ADNOC projects and expertise in the installation, testing, and maintenance of fiber optic networks. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience in fiber optic technologies, including splicing, termination, and troubleshooting, with a particular focus on ADNOC industry standards. A valid UAE driving license is preferred as the role may require travel to various work sites within the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fiber Optic Installation & Termination: Install, terminate, and splice fiber optic cables in accordance with ADNOC project specifications and safety standards.
• Testing & Diagnostics: Conduct comprehensive testing and diagnostics of fiber optic systems, including OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) testing, continuity testing, and power loss measurement. Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the fiber optic network.
• System Maintenance & Repairs: Perform routine maintenance, system upgrades, and repairs to ensure optimal performance and reliability of fiber optic networks.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of installation, testing, and maintenance activities. Ensure all paperwork meets ADNOC's compliance and reporting standards.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere to ADNOC’s strict health, safety, and environmental regulations while working in both onshore and offshore environments.
• Collaboration with Teams: Work effectively with other technicians, engineers, and contractors to ensure the successful completion of fiber optic projects on time and within scope.
• Customer Liaison: Provide excellent customer service, communicating effectively with ADNOC personnel and other stakeholders regarding project progress, timelines, and technical issues.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a Fiber Optic Technician, with a proven track record of working on ADNOC projects.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in fiber optic cable installation, termination, and splicing (both single-mode and multi-mode).
• Experience with OTDR testing, power loss measurements, and other fiber optic testing equipment.
• Familiarity with fiber optic system design, troubleshooting, and maintenance procedures.
• UAE Experience: Must have prior experience working in the UAE and familiarity with local industry standards and practices, specifically within the ADNOC environment.
• Driving License: A valid UAE driving license is preferred, as the role involves traveling to different job sites.
• Language Skills: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Safety Certifications: Familiarity with ADNOC's safety and compliance protocols. Certifications such as H2S, First Aid, and Offshore Safety are advantageous.
• Offshore Experience: Experience working in offshore environments or on projects related to the oil and gas industry is a plus.
• Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to resolve complex issues in high-pressure situations.
• Team Player: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
