Job Description: Ferro-Alloy Project & Operations Head

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ferro-Alloy Project & Operations Head to spearhead the commissioning, operation, and management of an 18 MVA Submerged Arc Furnace for the production of Silico Manganese, Ferro Chrome, and Ferro Manganese. The ideal candidate must have hands-on expertise in the production of Low Carbon Ferro Alloys and a deep understanding of metallurgical processes, furnace operations, cost optimization, and quality control.

This role requires a strategic leader who can drive efficiency, ensure safety compliance, manage a large team, and oversee all aspects of ferro-alloy production from raw material procurement to final output.

Job Responsibilities

a. Project Commissioning & Setup:

• Lead the commissioning of an 18 MVA * 4 submerged arc furnace, ensuring a smooth and timely setup in Abu Dhabi.
• Work closely with equipment suppliers, contractors, and project teams for efficient execution.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for furnace operations.
• Develop innovative & cost-effective methods to operate the plant with minimum manpower due to high labor costs in Abu Dhabi.

b. Operations & Production Management:

• Oversee daily production activities to ensure efficiency, quality, and output targets.
• Optimize the utilization of raw materials, power, and manpower to improve cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor furnace performance and drive continuous process improvements.

c. Technical Expertise & Process Optimization:

• Implement best practices in the production of Silico Manganese, Ferro Chrome, Ferro Manganese, and Low Carbon Ferro Alloys.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical and operational challenges in furnace operations.
• Maintain strict quality control measures to meet international standards and customer requirements.

d. Safety, Compliance & Cost Control:

• Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance guidelines.
• Control production costs by optimizing raw material consumption and minimizing wastage.
• Ensure compliance with local and international industry regulations.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, supervisors, and operators.
• Coordinate with procurement, logistics, finance, and HR teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
• Provide technical training and upskilling programs for team members.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 10-15+ years of hands-on experience in ferro-alloy production and operations.
• Proven expertise in commissioning and operating 18 MVA or higher submerged arc furnaces.
• Strong knowledge of Silico Manganese, Ferro Chrome, Ferro Manganese, and Low Carbon Ferro Alloys.
• Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end production operations, including cost control and process optimization.
• Expertise in troubleshooting furnace issues and implementing process improvements.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of safety, environmental, and industry regulations.
