Role Overview: The Early Childhood Inclusion Teacher supports students with Additional Learning Needs (ALN's) in Pre-KG to Grade 1, ensuring equitable access to learning in an inclusive environment. This role involves collaborating with classroom teachers, therapists, Inclusion Learning Assistants, Individual Assistants, and parents/guardians to implement individualized, developmentally appropriate interventions. The Inclusion Teacher is also responsible for applying Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and adaptive teaching strategies to create a flexible and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Inclusive Instruction & Student Support- Develop and implement individualized learning strategies that promote academic, social-emotional, and physical development.
- Apply Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to ensure lessons provide multiple means of engagement, representation, and expression.
- Adapt teaching strategies, classroom materials, and learning environments to meet diverse student needs.
- Utilize adaptive teaching approaches to ensure instruction is flexible and responsive to students' abilities.
- Use play-based and multisensory approaches to support language development, motor skills, and self-regulation.
- Conduct ongoing progress monitoring and modify interventions based on student data.
Collaboration with Inclusion Learning Assistants (ILAs), Therapists & Individual Assistants- Provide training, guidance, and support to Inclusion Learning Assistants, ensuring they effectively implement interventions and accommodations.
- Oversee and coordinate ILAs' roles in supporting student engagement and inclusion within the classroom.
- Work with therapists (speech and language, occupational, and behavioral) to integrate therapy goals into classroom activities.
- Collaborate with Individual Assistants to ensure they provide appropriate support while fostering student independence.
- Guide ILAs and Individual Assistants in applying effective differentiation, communication strategies, and behavior management techniques.
Parental Engagement & Communication- Build strong collaborative relationships with parents and guardians, ensuring they are informed and actively involved in their child's learning.
- Conduct regular meetings and workshops to provide families with strategies to support learning at home.
- Maintain consistent, transparent communication, offering updates on student progress, interventions, and accommodations.
Professional Growth & School Initiatives- Engage in continuous professional development in inclusive education, assistive technology, UDL, and intervention strategies.
- Actively contribute to school-wide inclusion initiatives, professional learning communities, and staff training.
- Stay informed about best practices in early intervention and inclusive education, implementing strategies aligned with ADEK guidelines.

To be considered for the role you must have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Special Education OR PGCE or equivalent qualification in Education and a SEN Diploma.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in Early Childhood SEN teaching.
- A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check.
