Features Writer Oil Gas Middle East

We are looking for a talented and motivated Features Writer to join our Energy Group contributing to the editorial success of Utilities Middle East and Oil & Gas Middle East. The role will focus on creating engaging and insightful content to grow the brands across print, digital, and social platforms.
Reporting to the Editor, the Features Writer will play a key role in expanding the audience, deepening engagement, and driving the editorial vision forward.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled writer with a passion for the energy sector and the ability to produce compelling features, interviews, and analysis that resonate with industry professionals and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Content Creation: Research, write, and produce high-quality features, news articles, interviews, and analysis tailored to the energy industry, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and relevance.
2. Editorial Collaboration: Work closely with the Editor to align content with the brand's editorial strategy and vision, contributing ideas for features and special content.
3. Industry Research: Stay informed on the latest trends, developments, and key players in the energy sector, including utilities, oil, and gas, to ensure content remains authoritative and insightful.
4. Multi-Platform Writing: Adapt content for print, digital, and social media platforms, ensuring tone and format are appropriate for each channel.
5. SEO and Analytics: Optimize digital content for SEO and use analytics tools to track performance and make data-driven improvements.
6. Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct interviews with industry experts, attend events, and liaise with key stakeholders to generate exclusive, in-depth content.
7. Audience Growth: Develop and execute ideas to grow audience engagement across platforms, including newsletters, social media campaigns, and other initiatives.
8. Deadlines and Workflow: Manage multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high editorial standards.
9. Event Coverage: Cover relevant industry events, conferences, and summits, producing live coverage reports and post-event analysis.

1. Writing Excellence: Proven ability to write engaging and well-researched features with strong storytelling and analytical skills.
2. Energy Sector Knowledge: Understanding of the energy industry (utilities, oil, and gas) and its key players, challenges, and opportunities. Experience in B2B media is highly preferred.
3. Editorial Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a journalistic or editorial role, preferably within business or trade publishing.
4. Digital Skills: Proficiency in using content management systems (CMS), SEO best practices, and social media platforms to distribute and promote content.
5. Research and Analysis: Strong research skills and the ability to translate complex industry topics into clear and engaging articles.
6. Adaptability: Ability to write across multiple platforms, tailoring content to suit print features, digital articles, and social media posts.
7. Collaboration: Comfortable working in a team environment and liaising with editors, designers, and commercial teams to deliver exceptional content.
8. Time Management: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and maintain attention to detail.
9. Event Enthusiasm: Willingness to travel and cover industry events and conferences.
