Job description

We are looking for a skilled and trend-savvy Fashion Buyer to join our team. In this role, you will curate and purchase products that resonate with our brand's style and meet customer demand for both our retail and online platforms. Responsibilities include trend analysis, sales performance review, supplier negotiations, and inventory oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Trend Research & Forecasting: Conduct market research and collaborate with trend forecasting agencies to ensure our product selection aligns with upcoming fashion trends and consumer demand.
  2. Product Selection: Partner with suppliers and internal teams to develop a compelling assortment that supports the brand vision and meets customer expectations.
  3. Vendor Management: Build and sustain productive supplier relationships to drive profitability.
  4. Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels to avoid excess inventory or shortages and make data-informed replenishment decisions.
  5. Budgeting & Financial Planning: Develop and manage the buying budget, ensuring purchases align with profit targets and are financially sound.
  6. Sales Performance Analysis: Review sales data and customer feedback to refine purchasing strategies, capitalizing on trends and market shifts.
  7. Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with merchandising and marketing teams to support promotional campaigns and ensure alignment in-store and online.
  8. Trend Reporting: Regularly report on product performance, future trends, and sales projections to support business strategies.

Qualifications:

  1. 3-5 years in a Fashion Buyer or similar role.
  2. Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  3. Trend Awareness: Knowledge of current and emerging fashion trends with an ability to predict consumer preferences.
  4. Analytical Skills: Proficient in data analysis and forecasting to interpret sales trends and buying patterns.
  5. Negotiation Skills: Skilled in vendor negotiations to secure favorable terms.
  6. Commercial Acumen: Understanding of retail math, budgeting, and financial planning.
  7. Attention to Detail: Keen eye for product quality and brand standards.
  8. Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with internal and external partners.
  9. Organizational Skills: Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic setting.
