Role Overview

The Farming Investment Analyst will play a key role in supporting financial and investment decisions for Al Dahra's farming operations. Working closely with farm management teams and senior stakeholders, this role will focus on financial analysis, budgeting, investment assessments, and performance tracking to drive profitable and efficient farm operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in financial analysis and investment principles, specifically within the farming and agribusiness sector.

Key Responsibilities

Financial & Investment Analysis

• Support financial decision-making by analyzing farm budgets, benchmarking, investment opportunities, and operational costs.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses for capital expenditures (capex), crop planning, and farm infrastructure investments.
• Assist in evaluating commercial agreements, including lease arrangements, contract farming deals, and supplier partnerships.

Budgeting & Performance Tracking

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets for farm operations, working with farm managers to ensure financial accuracy and feasibility.
• Monitor farm performance against key financial metrics, identifying trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
• Develop financial models and reports to support decision-making at both farm and corporate levels.

Farm Acquisition & Expansion Support

• Contribute to the financial due diligence process for potential farm acquisitions including greenfield investment and bolt-on acquisitions.
• Preparation of investment business cases for acquisitions.
• Analyze market conditions, investment risks, and profitability potential for new farm projects.
• Support scenario planning and financial forecasting for expansion initiatives.

Operational Efficiency & Cost Optimization

• Identify opportunities to enhance profitability through cost control and operational efficiencies.
• Work with farm managers to analyze input costs, yields, and resource utilization.
• Assist in developing strategies to improve farm productivity while maintaining financial sustainability.

• Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial principles, particularly in relation to farming investments and agribusiness operations.
• Analytical Mindset: Ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
• Agricultural Knowledge: Understanding of farming economics, crop production costs, and market dynamics affecting farm profitability.
• Financial Modelling: Experience in building financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and investment analysis.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with farm managers, finance teams, and senior executives.
• Adaptability & Mobility: Willingness to travel to farm locations to gain firsthand insights into operations.

Experience & Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Finance, Agribusiness, Economics, or a related field. CPA is a strong plus.
• Experience: Approximately 5 years of experience in financial analysis, investment evaluation, or business performance roles within farming, agribusiness, or agricultural investments.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and financial modelling; experience with budgeting and performance tracking tools.

Nice to Have:

• Experience working in large-scale farming operations or agribusiness investments.
• Exposure to international agricultural markets and farming regulations.
