Job description

Job Title: Faculty Member

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide high-quality teaching and develop teaching materials and courses related to the area of specialization.
  2. Conduct research and participate in community service activities.
  3. Help students develop their knowledge, skills, and competencies.
  4. Assist in branding the school/university and support internationalization, admissions, and placements.
  5. Plan and organize academic and extracurricular activities.

Functional Area:

  1. Participate in committee activities to achieve objectives.
  2. Build public relations and maintain functional relationships with other departments.
  3. Conduct scholarly research and publish papers in national and international journals.
  4. Participate in conferences and community service in coordination with the services committee.

Internal Communication: Dean, Faculty, HODs, Staff, and Students

External Communication: As per Dean's office requirements.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

  1. Carry a teaching load as per the handbook.
  2. Prepare lectures, tutorials, quizzes, and tests to achieve learning outcomes.
  3. Monitor, assess, record, and disseminate student performance periodically.
  4. Counsel/advise students to achieve academic excellence.
  5. Coordinate with academic leadership regarding academic matters.
  6. Complete administrative responsibilities assigned by the Dean's office.
  7. Submit the Teaching Portfolio and Course Report before the end of each semester.
  8. Maintain availability for students outside the classroom.
  9. Evaluate and grade student work promptly.
  10. Assist in preparing examination questions.
  11. Reschedule missed classes with approval from the Dean.
  12. Engage classes as per schedule and inform the Administration Department of emergencies.
  13. Attend Pre-Semester Orientation and collect course-related requirements.
  14. Maintain online attendance and counsel students missing classes without valid reasons.
  15. Complete teaching/tutoring hours as per the contract.
  16. Meet with the group leader as per the issued calendar.
  17. Perform any other duties deemed necessary by Management.

Key Accountabilities (KPI):

  1. Achieve 80% and above in student feedback and course file evaluation.
  2. Research output as per SUC’s research policy.
  3. Initiate and participate in community service activities.
  4. Contribute to accreditation activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. Degree as per position requirement.
  • Proven track record in academics and research.

Preferred Experience:

  • Teaching experience of a minimum of 10 years.
