A little taste of your day-to-day:
- Endeavour to resolve all complaints during shift and log all complaints in the log book for further follow-up.
- Ensure restaurant operating equipment is clean and in working order.
- Maintain impeccable uniform and personal presentation standards in accordance with hotel policy.
- Execute cash handling and banking procedures.
- Prepare daily banking and cash flow reports.
- Establish and instruct staff in cash security procedures.
- Supervise the maintenance of service equipment.
- Monitor standards of guest facilities and services.
- Greet guests appropriately at their room and provide service upon items ordered.
- Ensure prompt and efficient delivery of food and beverage to the guest's room.
- Serve orders if needed.
- Conduct regular training sessions with the team in line with the departmental SOPs and complete accurate reporting and training plans.
- Ensure that hot food is maintained and delivered hot and all cold items are delivered cold.
- Read and retain all pertinent information regarding daily promotions, food and beverage specials.
- May check back with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meal and determine if they have any other needs.
- Perform duties of the room service in the absence of a supervisor.
- Must be able to anticipate guest or operational needs.
- Ensure room service equipment is functioning properly; report any problems to the Room Service Manager.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with the Hotel Standards.
- Control stock and monitor security procedures.
- Supervise colleagues during shifts and functions.
- Perform any reasonable tasks as instructed by Manager.
What we need from you:
- Ideally, the incumbent should have 1-2 years of experience in a similar role (specifically IRD) from a luxury property.
- Ability to work in a team and in different functions.
- Warm and inviting personality.
- Ability to think calmly under pressure.
- Willingness to learn open-mindedly.
- Passion for food and curiosity for something new.
- Basic organization skills in restaurant operation.
