Job Purpose
To direct, oversee and monitor the strategy development for the organization’s external image, reputation, visibility and perception, in accordance with the corporate vision and mission, and ensure effective implementation and alignment of all external communications programs and activities, in order to raise awareness and understanding of ENEC, its subsidiaries, and the broader UAE Peaceful Nuclear Energy Program in the UAE, regionally and internationally, through proactive positive communication, engagement and advocacy and effective crisis communication and issues management, to ensure a seamless, timely flow of key messages, accurately targeted to each stakeholder group.

External Affairs Strategy
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Set the direction and oversee the development and implementation of the External Communications Strategy for ENEC and its subsidiaries, aligned to corporate vision, mission and objectives and the overarching objectives of the department.
- Ensure a seamless, aligned strategy, plan and detailed execution plan that ties in all initiatives, programs and activities across strategic communications, digital communications, media relations, stakeholder relations and international cooperation to maximize the value of these initiatives, programs and activities.
- Ensure that all line reports and broader communications team understand the plans and are actively engaged in their delivery.
- Ensure the external communications strategy aligns with and supports the internal engagement and communications strategy.
- Advise the VP of Communications and EA, and other senior leadership members on matters relating to external communication strategy and issues affecting its public image, to ensure appropriate courses of action are taken as required.
- Provide valuable strategic counsel throughout to alter and evolve the strategy and plan in line with the dynamics of the business and the evolving global nuclear industry – ‘joining the dots’ across specialisms, stakeholders, activities and the external environment.
- Identify, develop and nurture robust media relationships to support the delivery of positive media outcomes.
- Drive the media relations team to identify, pitch and convert strong media angles and narratives into positive stories, and ensure alignment with digital communications.
- Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships with nuclear organizations, think tanks and other related organizations for development of reports.

- Identify, oversee and sign off on strategic communications plans, messaging houses, narratives and materials.
- Direct the development of all materials and messages to support the delivery of the strategy and targeted to key audiences, such as government agencies, general public, nuclear industry stakeholders, nuclear regulators, and other internal & external stakeholders, with the goals of brand positioning and increasing awareness of BNPP, the nuclear energy and the nuclear safety culture.
- Ensure a strong stable of Enterprise representatives are available for external media opportunities. Train or identify and procure external trainers to engage and train executives to ensure they are ready for proactive and crisis comms media engagements.
- Oversee the development of the social media/digital communications strategies and plans and monitor its integration into communications strategy and effective execution to meet objectives and KPIs.
Professional Certifications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in media & Communications, Public Relationship, Marketing and Business Administration.
Experience
10 to 12 years of relevant experience in communications in a multinational corporation or consultancy out of which 4 years in a Managerial Role.
