Expression Of Interest - Geotechnical Engineer- Site Based

Job Description

We are seeking a talented and innovative Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Dubai (Site based). As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in analyzing soil/sand conditions, designing foundations, and ensuring the stability and safety of various construction projects in the region.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct site investigations and soil testing to determine geotechnical properties and soil behavior.
2. Analyze data from field and laboratory tests to assess ground conditions and potential risks.
3. Design foundations, retaining structures, and earth support systems for buildings and infrastructure projects.
4. Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, including site characterization, engineering analyses, and design recommendations.
5. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural engineers, architects, and construction managers.
6. Provide technical guidance and support during construction phases to address geotechnical issues.
7. Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex geotechnical problems.
8. Ensure compliance with local building codes, standards, and regulations in the UAE.
9. Monitor project progress and conduct site visits to verify geotechnical aspects of construction.
10. Stay updated on the latest geotechnical engineering techniques and technologies.
11. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the professional development of the team.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited university; Master's degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering.
3. Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
4. Proven experience in geotechnical consulting and field investigations.
5. Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and earth retention systems.
6. Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software such as gINT, GeoStudio (SEEP/W, SLOPE/W), PLAXIS, and FLAC.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
8. Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities, including technical report writing.
9. Familiarity with UAE building codes, standards, and local construction practices.
10. Experience working in the Middle East region, particularly in the UAE, is highly desirable.
11. Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
12. Strong project management skills and experience leading geotechnical projects.
13. Willingness to perform occasional field work and travel to project sites.
