Expert User Researcher

Ciklum is looking for an Expert User Researcher with a proven track record of conducting influential research to join our Product Design team full-time in the United Arab Emirates.

About the role:

As an Expert User Researcher, you will need to be able to conduct and lead research activities, integrate and deliver user insights that help design brilliant experiences that meet our customers' needs. We recognize the pivotal role that user research plays in delivering brilliant experiences that support our customers. You'll represent the user research specialism alongside more junior researchers and be a part of a wider Product Design Team.

Our client is a technology business that runs large-scale transformation engagements across various verticals, including the public sector. You will be part of a key initiative to modernize a nationwide government platform through comprehensive digital transformation. By leveraging advanced web portals, mobile applications, CRM systems, predictive analytics, and AI, our dynamic team aims to enhance and streamline core services for government officials, the legal ecosystem, and citizens. Our primary focus is on ensuring seamless integration, scalability, and adherence to rigorous performance and security standards.

Responsibilities:

• Own, lead and execute all research activities, ensuring that the appropriate processes, principles, and resources are engaged to generate quality outcomes for customers and the business.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, business analysts, and engineers to ensure everyone understands and is on board with research output.
• Take initiative and responsibility, going beyond the surface, and share the success of the product.
• Work with the research leadership team to develop quality standards across practice, methods, and ways of working.
• Inspire your team, share your experience, and mentor team members in their skills and projects.
• Champion user research across the organization, educating, influencing, and guiding stakeholders and partners.

Requirements:

• A solid set of skills and hands-on experience in user research, with a deep understanding of methodologies and processes (4+ years preferred).
• Proven experience leveraging both qualitative and quantitative research to drive product and/or organizational change.
• Professional spoken and written Arabic skills & living experience in the Middle East.
• Experience shipping products and sites that solve real problems, with strong case studies and research artifacts to back it up.
• Proven experience in spotting research opportunities across various parts of the product life cycle and defining the best approach to carry it out.
• Experience leading and managing the end-to-end user research process and communicating progress and results to teams.
• Experience with setting up and analyzing the results of unmoderated usability testing studies.
• Experience with setting up and managing research repositories.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate your thinking and persuade others.
• Create evidence-led narratives that bring to life the experience of customers and colleagues.
• Experience in planning, executing, and contributing to discovery phases and design sprints.
• Guide and support teams and individuals to help accelerate the adoption of user research within the organization.
• Help evolve our processes as there is huge scope for change-making.
• Experience working in cross-disciplinary teams.
• Experience in building digital solutions for Governments or Non-Profits.
