Expert for a Consulting project in Airport Ground Handling Operations Abu Dhabi

Client: Consulting Firm

Role: The Client is seeking a highly qualified business leader with a specialized background in airport ground (passenger and cargo) handling operations for a consulting project based in Abu Dhabi. Extensive experience in airport ground (passenger and cargo) handling operations with deep knowledge of core operations is essential.

Main Tasks:

1. Operational Assessment: Guide the project team during in-depth evaluation of current operational processes, particularly labor scheduling and resource utilization, to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
2. Bottleneck Identification: Map out critical processes, identify bottlenecks in labor management, and highlight areas where idle time and overstaffing may be occurring.
3. Cost Structure Analysis: Provide expert guidance in assessment of current cost structure focusing on labor-related expenses and identify potential areas for cost reduction through optimized scheduling and process changes.
4. Scheduling Technologies: Provide expert guidance in identification, impact, and feasibility assessment of available/emerging labor scheduling solutions based on the client’s context.
5. Advisor: Work closely with the project team to provide guidance on critical operational diagnostics tasks, serving as a go-to expert for questions related to process optimization, scheduling, and technology adoption.
6. Support in Deliverable Development: Collaborate with the project team to produce key deliverables such as diagnostic reports, operational improvement recommendations, and initiative roadmap with estimated cost impacts.
7. Client Engagement: Participate in workshops, team meetings, and client presentations, providing expert guidance throughout the project.

Qualifications:

1. The ideal candidate should have 15 years of experience at leading airport ground handling operators globally. He should have held C-level positions at global operators and/or worked as a hands-on advisor for those operators in projects related to cost transformation, process optimization, and labor optimization/scheduling domains.
2. Deep understanding of passenger and cargo handling operations and technological solutions (e.g., geolocation/telematics, AI-based scheduling) for constraint-based labor scheduling/optimization is highly critical.

Workload/Location:

Abu Dhabi on ground.

Engagement:

3 months part-time assignment is also a potential option.
