Evaluate tender ITT / ITB documents, drawing specifications, and project schedules to understand the instrumentation scope of work.
Prepare cost sheets including direct costs, indirect costs, temporary facilities, and other related costs for tender.
Float inquiries to suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors as required.
Prepare and review datasheets, control wiring diagrams, hookup drawings, cable schedules, instrument index, I/O list, loop drawings, termination diagrams, cause and effect charts, and P&IDs.
Identify potential issues or areas of risk and communicate with the Proposals & Estimation Manager.
Collaborate with intracompany estimators to ensure that estimates are accurate and complete.
Day to day responsibilities:
Review and evaluate project tender documents, drawings, specifications, datasheets, and project schedules to identify the cost estimation basis.
Prepare and float inquiries to suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors. Review and validate estimates from subvendors.
Prepare detailed bills of quantity and verify material takeoffs during the tender stage, supporting project teams during execution.
Prepare and review datasheets, control wiring diagrams, hookup drawings, cable schedules, instrument index, I/O list, loop drawings, termination diagrams, cause and effect charts, and P&IDs.
Review tender documents for instruments, DCS, ESD, RTU, SCADA, Telecom, and F&G Systems.
Prepare cost sheets for construction packages for main contractors.
Prepare cost comparisons between suppliers and subcontractors and identify relevant factors.
Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and summaries for instrumentation-related scope of work, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, overheads, contingencies, and profit margins.
Contribute to project execution plans and technical proposal write-ups for related scopes of work.
Contribute to commercial proposals and provide detailed bases for related scopes of work.
Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors on commercial aspects of the scope and products.
Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and clients on instrumentation-related issues.
Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Electrical Instrumentation or related field) with 5-6 years of sufficient experience, including a minimum of 3 years in the Oil & Gas, Power & Utility industry. Familiarity with Engineering Procurement and Contracting aspects both onshore and offshore in the power and utility industry is preferred.
