Environmental Officer

• Supports Project Management in achieving Environmental goals and KPIs as set for the project.
• Can support the staff of more than one project with his knowledge of projects' environmental aspects/impacts.
• Monitor and ensure subcontractors' implementation of HSEMS.
• Implement and monitor performance of Environment Management System requirements.
• Conduct Environment Aspect/Impact assessment for activities.
• Conduct Environmental awareness/training sessions.
• Reports to Environmental Superintendent on all project Environmental issues.
• Supports Environmental Engineer and Project Manager in adherence to Environment Management Plans.
• Performs incident and accident investigations and reports findings back to Environmental Superintendent.
• Assists and performs internal management system audits to monitor compliance with the company EMS.
• Reporting the performance details of the Implemented HSEMS to the top management at periodic intervals and during the Management Review meetings.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in a related field, or equivalent.
• Holder of NEBOSH/IOSH Diploma or an equivalent internationally recognized HSE certification is preferable.
• Minimum 03 years of related work experience in similar industries.
• Flexible in terms of work location (onshore or offshore).

• Environmental Regulations and Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of environmental laws, policies, and regulations at local, state, and federal levels (e.g., EPA standards in the U.S., or EU regulations).

• Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA): Ability to evaluate the environmental impact of projects and propose strategies to mitigate negative effects.

• Sustainability Practices: Knowledge of sustainability initiatives, renewable energy, waste management, and resource conservation strategies.

• Risk Management: The ability to assess environmental risks and create plans to address them effectively.

• Data Analysis: Skills in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting environmental data (e.g., air quality, water quality, noise levels, etc.) and preparing reports.

• Project Management: Ability to manage environmental projects, ensuring that environmental considerations are integrated into planning, design, and execution.
