Job description

As an EHS Engineer, you will play a crucial role in:

Developing, implementing, and overseeing safety and environmental programs within the organization. Your primary responsibility is to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of awareness and adherence to best practices.

Responsibilities:

  1. Safety Program Development: Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and policies. Conduct regular safety audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulations. Collaborate with management to establish safety goals and objectives.
  2. Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with local, state, and federal safety regulations and ensure the organization's compliance. Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies.
  3. Hazard Identification and Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses. Implement measures to mitigate identified risks and hazards. Investigate incidents and accidents and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  4. Training and Awareness: Develop and conduct safety training programs for employees. Promote awareness of safety practices through communication and educational initiatives. Provide guidance on emergency response procedures.
  5. Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to integrate safety measures into daily operations. Communicate safety-related information to employees and management. Participate in safety committee meetings.
  6. Environmental Management: Assess and manage environmental aspects related to the company's operations. Develop strategies to minimize the environmental impact of processes.
  7. Emergency Response Planning: Develop and maintain emergency response plans. Conduct drills and simulations to ensure preparedness.
  8. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities and incidents. Prepare and submit reports as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

BE / Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field. Min 05 to 10 years of experience. Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, NEBOSH) are a plus. Proven experience in EHS roles, preferably in an industrial (steel) or manufacturing sector. In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and environmental management practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate with various levels of the organization. Proficient in using EHS management systems and tools.
