ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST

Our Strategic Advisory team is seeking an experienced Environmental Consultant to join our KSA-based team. The successful candidate will bring proven experience in environmental consulting, particularly on large-scale international projects, ideally in KSA, UAE, and the wider Middle East region.

The role requires expertise in coordinating and delivering Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies, contributing environmental insights to master planning, and preparing and implementing construction-related environmental management plans, including site monitoring and auditing.

Position Overview :

The Environmental Compliance Specialist will oversee and ensure that all construction activities comply with environmental laws and regulations. This role involves conducting site inspections, preparing reports, and implementing environmental management plans to minimize the impact of construction projects on the environment.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Regulatory Compliance : Ensure all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
2. Site Inspections : Conduct regular site inspections to monitor compliance with environmental standards and identify potential issues.
3. Reporting : Prepare detailed reports on environmental compliance and present findings to management and regulatory bodies.
4. Environmental Management Plans : Develop and implement environmental management plans, including waste management, erosion control, and pollution prevention.
5. Training and Education : Provide training to construction staff on environmental regulations and best practices.
6. Incident Response : Respond to environmental incidents and emergencies, ensuring appropriate measures are taken to mitigate impact.
7. Stakeholder Engagement : Liaise with regulatory agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders to address environmental concerns.

Requirements :

1. Education : Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
2. Experience : Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in environmental compliance in the construction industry within Abu Dhabi.
3. Knowledge : Strong understanding of environmental laws and regulations, including the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and other relevant legislation.
4. Skills : Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
5. Certifications : Professional certifications such as Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or similar are preferred.
6. Technical Proficiency : Familiarity with environmental monitoring equipment and software.
