Job Responsibilities

The English Teacher will be responsible for delivering a dynamic curriculum that integrates traditional literary studies with contemporary communication skills. The program emphasizes literature analysis, creative and academic writing, and critical thinking, incorporating modern storytelling mediums such as digital media and journalism. With access to extensive literary resources and industry partnerships, the teacher will foster a deep appreciation for language while equipping students with skills relevant to evolving professional and creative landscapes. The role includes facilitating writing workshops, guiding students in literary projects, and integrating innovative teaching methods to enhance engagement and comprehension.

Person Specifications

• Hold a BEd or Bachelors degree with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent
• A Master's degree or equivalent qualification is preferred
• Have proven experience of teaching English to KS4/KS5 or equivalent
• Have a willingness to collaborate and share their outstanding practice
• Have a growth mindset, whereby they are reflective and solution focused
• Be creative and enthusiastic in their approach to teaching
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with colleagues, students and parents
• Have a proven track record of providing outstanding learning & teaching
• Have aspiration to work in a world-class school with real prospects for enhancing their career
• Be willing to make a positive contribution to our school community and culture through active engagement in our extra-curricular programme and community-based events
