English Teacher for Primary / Secondary School

Position: Secondary School English Teacher

Location: The International School of Choueifat – Ajman, United Arab Emirates.

Job Description: Seeking an English Teacher to teach literature and language arts to grades 9-12. Responsibilities include lesson planning, grading, and supporting the school literary magazine.

Qualifications: Master’s in English or Education preferred; teaching certification; excellent communication skills.

Teacher Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Cultivate a hunger for knowledge among students and engage them to learn.
2. Encourage curiosity and continued improvement.
3. Help set goals for students and work with the class to help them attain these goals.
4. Keep an organized and orderly classroom that promotes creativity and learning.
5. Plan curriculum for the school year.
6. Create and prepare daily lesson plans for appropriate age and learning skill level, making adjustments when needed.
7. Create and/or print out instructional material for classroom use.
8. Lead daily lesson plans, teaching the intended subject matter and answering any questions the students may have.
9. Keep track of role and ensure students are attending and participating in class.
10. Assign work by means of in-class worksheets, projects, homework, presentations, reports, etc.
11. Assess performance by grading work and giving tests.
12. Keep grading book and submit at end of each term.
13. Help students one-on-one who need extra assistance.
