The English teacher will be responsible for delivering English Literature instruction to secondary students in the bilingual track and those preparing for the French International Baccalaureate (BFI) – American section. The ideal candidate should be a native English speaker or have equivalent proficiency and be skilled in teaching the literary and cultural competencies required by the BFI curriculum.
Responsibilities and Activities:
Teaching English Literature:
Deliver literature classes for bilingual and BFI students, promoting critical analysis and literary appreciation. Develop lesson plans aligned with BFI standards and the bilingual curriculum, integrating American cultural elements.
BFI Exam Preparation:
Prepare students for BFI exams by applying tailored teaching methods. Design and assess essays, exercises, and analyses to enhance comprehension and interpretation skills.
Cultural and Linguistic Development:
Deepen students' knowledge of American culture through readings, discussions, and group activities. Foster confident oral and written expression in English.
Individual Support:
Provide personalized guidance to help students achieve goals and develop independence. Work with colleagues to address specific learning needs.
School Involvement:
Contribute to LFITM projects related to American literature and culture. Help organize literary and cultural events with teachers and cultural partners.
