Job Title: Engineering Manager

Location: Dubai, UAE

Job Objective: Responsible for the execution of the engineering portion of a multi-discipline engineering scope of work on one or more projects/work scopes. Has responsibility for coordinating and completing the various engineering, and start-up aspects of a project(s) while meeting HSSE, quality, schedule, and budget performance goals. Has responsibility for the technical excellence of the engineering portion of a project(s) across all disciplines.

Contributes To Delivery Of Engineering Excellence Through:

• Driving technical assurance on the assigned scope(s) of work
• Managing and leading, supporting, and supervising the discipline engineering teams on the assigned scope(s) of work
• Management of key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities
• Developing and retaining motivated and competent people
• Training and Mentoring Discipline Engineering Teams
• Undertaking the role of process owner
• Driving safety by design
• Driving and leading on opportunities for innovation

The Engineering Manager leads by example, consistently displaying and enforcing the Company's values and behaviours, and commitment to the highest standards of safe and ethical behaviour, to ensure safe and reliable operations and client satisfaction. This role reports to the Project Delivery Manager.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Driving technical assurance: Continuous promotion of corporate/client-specific procedures, assist in incident investigations, monitor compliance with standards, roll out learning opportunities, and driving continual focus on process safety.
• Managing and leading the multidiscipline engineering team: Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the activities of the engineering team, assist in recruitment and performance management, and ensure appropriately resourced personnel.
• Management of key stakeholders: Responsible for engineering content of project execution plans, manage resources efficiently, consult and negotiate with clients, and resolve complex technical problems.
• Undertaking the role of process owner: Develop and implement policies and procedures for engineering work, align with corporate objectives, and act as a conduit for regulatory changes and technology developments.

Qualifications:

• Typically requires 15+ years progressive experience in discipline engineering
• Held a position of Engineering Lead or Manager for at least 3 years
• Balance of technical and management experience
• Broad knowledge of engineering theories and techniques
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Good knowledge of the regulatory framework and industry developments
• Expert in Engineering excellence
