We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Manager to join our team.
Position Overview
The Engineering Manager oversees the technical and engineering functions within the joinery factory, ensuring the effective translation of design concepts into manufacturable solutions. This role is responsible for leading the engineering team, optimizing production drawings, resolving technical challenges, and supporting the integration between design, production, and installation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the engineering team in producing accurate shop drawings, cutting lists, and technical documentation for joinery production.
- Translate architectural and design intent into practical, manufacturable solutions, ensuring feasibility and efficiency.
- Review and approve technical drawings, ensuring alignment with project specifications, material standards, and factory capabilities.
- Collaborate with design, production, procurement, and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution and technical coordination.
- Provide technical support during manufacturing and installation phases, resolving design or site-related issues promptly.
- Develop and implement engineering standards, processes, and CAD protocols to improve consistency and reduce errors.
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and optimize material usage.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, industry standards, and client requirements in all engineering outputs.
- Oversee the selection of materials and hardware, ensuring quality, durability, and suitability for manufacturing and installation.
- Recruit, train, and mentor engineering staff, promoting technical growth and maintaining high team performance. Undertake any other reasonable duties or responsibilities as required by your manager, commensurate with the role and aligned with the needs of the business.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 10+ years in Construction Industry
- Experience with CNC Programming or CAM Software
- Familiarity with ERP Systems
- Knowledge of Fire Ratings, Acoustic Requirements, and Building Regulations
- Project Management Experience
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement
