Roles and responsibilitiesThe jobholder is responsible for providing engineering expertise in leading the Instrumentation Reliability for Borouge Assets, Plants, and Equipment in line with international engineering standards and best practices to enhance Operations’ operability, productivity, quality, and capacity.
This role includes providing effective Reliability Management Systems and guidance for Reliability Centred Maintenance activities; carrying out analysis of equipment performance, failure data, and corrective maintenance history; while ensuring that the Instrumentation Reliability Process is established and maintained.
Key Accountabilities
- Maintenance Strategies: Coordinate and facilitate Reliability Cantered Maintenance and Instrument Protective Function analysis to optimize equipment and system maintenance strategies. Develop/improve predictive, preventive, and major maintenance programs for plant equipment/systems in his plant/area to improve reliability.
- Reliability Management System: Develop and implement the Reliability Management System for Instrumentation Engineering to ensure a structured, consistent, multi-discipline approach to reliability and integrity improvement. Establish a Reliability, Availability, Integrity threats database on the common shared server. Develop and maintain codes of practice and ensure that the standards contained in such codes are thoroughly understood and consistently complied with. Assist in the development of a comprehensive Maintenance Management System for all Instrument and control systems.
- Root Cause Analysis: Introduce Root Cause Analysis techniques and facilitate equipment failure investigations. Provide guidelines for conducting Root Cause Analysis methodology and software. Perform troubleshooting, lead, or participate in root cause analysis and design review on equipment failures to identify corrective actions, modifications, or required repairs, and implement innovative technologies as required.
- Reliability Improvement: Develop reliability, availability, and integrity improvement plans in conjunction with Managers and Leads in Maintenance and Maintenance Management. Participate in the development of engineering and technical solutions to improve reliability performance of systems and equipment. Identify the chronic occurrence of equipment failure modes and components. Suggest economical long-term solutions. Track and implement Instrumentation reliability recommendations to ensure proper deployment of the targeted improvement.
Desired candidate profile
- Identify statutory requirements coming as per government regulation, ADNOC standards, OEM, Suppliers, and international standards to produce procedures, work instructions, and checklists for various activities and requirements.
- Propose improvements in business processes and procedures to reduce risk and improve safety standards of the plant.
- Keep abreast and knowledgeable of updates for Health, Safety, Environment, Crisis Management, and Risk Registers for all performed processes, projects, and activities within the operating zone.
- Promote, communicate, and lead by example all safety-related communications, updates, standards, and any related topics with co-workers and within any interface.
- Contribute to providing timely feedback and recommendations to leverage a risk-free environment to ensure the ultimate goals of a safe workplace.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent engineering disciplines. Fluency in English Language; written and oral.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills: Minimum of 8 years of total experience in maintenance of the Petrochemical, Oil, and Gas industry with 4 years working as Senior Engineer in Reliability & troubleshooting. Minimum of 4-6 years of experience as a Reliability Engineer (Instrumentation/Control Engineer). Working experience in maintenance needs, processes, and strategies for equipment and systems in the petrochemical and Oil-gas industry. Working knowledge of HSE policies applicable in the chemical & petrochemical industry. Knowledge and understanding of planning tools, techniques, philosophy, and processes existing in the oil/gas or petrochemical industry.
