Engineer - Process Metallurgy (Wire rod & Value added Grade)

To review the operational data for Rolling of (Wire rod & VAG) on a regular basis, analyze and evaluate the efficiency and quality of rolling. Analyze failure details and root causes, evaluate functional and technical activities of the rolling mill, suggest engineering improvements and follow up for the implementation. In addition, suggest new ideas/technologies to enhance plant and process performance (quality, production, maintenance, safety, etc.).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review production reports of Rolling Mills (Wire rod & VAG) on a regular basis and review data logging of the process parameters to improve quality. Analyze failure details and root causes, evaluate functional and technical activities.
• Describe process limitations, parameters, and correctness of Rolling Mills (Wire rod & VAG) production for updating, modifying, and improving systems.
• Prepare a weekly report of Rolling Mills (Wire rod & VAG) with gap analysis and recommendations to reach benchmark/design production rate.
• Assess implementation of operational procedures covering all areas of Rolling Mills (Wire rod & VAG) activity so that all relevant procedural requirements are fulfilled.
• Conduct data analysis and prepare action reports on a range of production performance & technical areas/issues to ensure that management has the necessary information to support decision making.
• Technical analysis of Rolling Mills (Wire rod & VAG) output in alliance with company objectives to ensure efficiencies.
• Follow up on new projects/modifications as per the company Strategy Plant.
• Identify & propose opportunities for engineering improvements in the concerned area of expertise and support follow-up for the implementation.
• Develop the basic engineering information for the implementation of small projects, according to the area of expertise.
• Conduct activities for new product development along with the metallurgy department team.
• Conduct feasibility analyses to evaluate/support opportunities of investment for the expansion/renewal/improvement of the company plant facilities & equipment.
• Monitor & investigate the fulfillment of health, safety & environment standards.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Detailed knowledge of Rolling mill (Wire rod & VAG) operation and Rolling mill equipment.
• Detailed knowledge of quality aspects of various steel grades.
• Analyzing and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work for a collective output in a cross-functional, highly interactive, and flat structure.
• Responsibility and accountability to complete tasks in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner.
• Drive and resilience to effectively complete the assigned tasks.
• Interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate methods of conveying information.
• Professionalism and team skills with a Health, Environment, Safety, and Quality focus.
• Computer knowledge, MS Office.
• Knowledge of TPM, Quality circle, 5S, etc.

Graduate degree or above in Metallurgical Engineering preferred.

Professional Experience Required:

• 10 years of experience in own area of specialization.
• R&D experience.
• Strong theoretical background.
• Industry-specific experience is essential for this role.
