Engineer ICT/ELV

1 Mission

Responsible for providing professional direction, support and advice as the site representative for all matters related to construction, quality assurance of IT ELV Systems.

2 Line and Staff Relations

This role will report directly to Project Resident Engineer and Operations Director.

He/She has relation with:

1. All the local staff
2. All the external entities necessary to his/her job execution

3 Key Responsibilities

Site Management & Deliverables – Construction Stage

1. Review all Contractor’s submissions, including but not limited to Method Statement, Material submissions, Shop Drawings, Calculations, Mock ups, etc.
2. Attend Progress Meetings with the Contractor(s) as deemed necessary by the Resident Engineer.
3. Attend coordination Meetings and provide Minutes of Meetings with the Contractor(s).
4. Monitor and supervise the Works associated with the project in relation to quality, requirements and standards.
5. Perform scheduled inspections via Work Inspection Requests, and provide accurate inspection comments related to the IT ELV Systems.
6. Monitor Contractor's performance concerning the ICT Systems against approved Method Statements and ITPs.
7. Inspect the materials delivered to site for the use in the IT ELV Systems, and ensure compliance to project requirements.
8. Ensure suitability and fitness for use of Inspection, Measuring, and Testing Equipment related to IT ELV Systems.
9. Conduct surveillance and regular walk-throughs of the Site to ascertain that the IT ELV Systems installations are proceeding in accordance with requirements.
10. Report any potential problems, issues, and deficiencies related to the IT ELV Systems to the Construction Manager in a timely manner.
11. Produce the daily record and report the daily physical progress of the IT ELV Systems made by the Contractor.
12. Assist the Resident Engineer for Contractor’s invoice assessment based on submissions status and work in-progress on site.
13. Assist the Resident Engineer in the preparation of the monthly Project Status Report as required.
14. Conduct snagging and re-snagging (as necessary) of the IT ELV Systems declared to be complete by the Contractor.
15. Assist in Testing and Commissioning.
16. Co-ordinate with stakeholders and relevant local authorities.

Quality Management:

1. Review, approve and process all contractors' as-built drawings.
2. Issue, when required, NCRs for non-conforming works to the Contractor, and participate in the resolution and closure.
3. Monitor the proposed remedial and corrective actions from the Contractor on non-conforming works.

Health & Safety

1. Liaise with the Senior Health & Safety Consultant to ensure the compliance of the Site Team with HSE Plan.

4 Profile Specifications – Minimum Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/ Electronics Communications Engineering or equivalent.
2. 8 years of post graduate experience with a minimum of 5 years in airport IT ELV Systems related projects.
3. It would be an advantage if you have worked for one of the following companies: Honeywell, Bosch, Tyco/Johnson Controls, Pelco, Cisco, etc…
4. Knowledge of the following regulations:
1. EN 55024 Information technology equipment - Immunity characteristics to electrostatic discharge (ESD)
2. EN 60950-1 Information technology equipment - Safety - Part 1: General requirements
3. EN 61000-6-2 Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
4. ISO 27001 Information and Security Management standard, latest edition
5. Professional spoken and written English
6. Ability to work in a construction site environment.
7. Ability to manage relationships with external contractors and suppliers.
8. Good technical analysis methodology and System Requirement Management.
9. Good communication and Customer facing skills.
10. Technical presentation and planning and reporting skills.
