To supervise maintenance repairs and services for combined Power Generation and Balance of Plant or Rectiformers and Power distribution network. To minimize downtime and increase availability and reliability of electrical equipment.
To perform cost effectively, safely and in an efficient manner.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Supervises effectively for timely completion of preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance activities (both planned and unplanned). This includes scheduled inspections with minimum equipment downtime and minimum interruption to Power Operations.
Maintains effective PM compliance rate and achieves the department KPI’s to meet the given targets.
Attends corrective and breakdown maintenance repairs, in close coordination with the Power operations team, as and when required (including “on call” duties). Restores the systems back to normalcy as quickly as possible.
Ensures that all aspects of maintenance works are carried out in adherence with EHS standards and plant operating requirements, to minimise workplace accidents/inquiries.
Investigates system failures and ensures prompt corrective action is initiated to minimize equipment downtime.
Ensures that maintenance crews are effectively supervised and trained to perform their duties in a safe, competent and cost-effective manner.
Effects control over the maintenance costs including production and administrative overheads, overtime and contract labour administration.
Ensures the team follows the TPM principles - moving away from breakdown/corrective to more proactive maintenance approach.
Develops and reviews standard maintenance procedures related to electrical maintenance function in line with OEM recommendations and best industrial practice.
Ensures that plant and equipment are maintained in accordance with recognized International Standards and spare part inventories are up-to-date to meet maintenance requirements.
Responsible for implementation of condition-monitoring programs on existing and new high voltage plant, enabling planned remedial activities to improve life expectancy and minimize unplanned failures.
Accepts the probability of significant exposure to varying degrees of dangerous physical and sensory conditions inherent in the work environment; high pressure steam, high voltage, Arc Flash, high magnetic fields, high noise levels, fumes, heat, humidity, dust, heights, splashes of chemicals, acids, mineral oils and liquids. Incumbent is aware that risk is significant and avoiding risk of danger, accident or health issues is a major challenge.
