THE POST
ADNOC Schools is currently seeking high-performing Employee Relations Officer (HR Officer). The current vacancy is based in ADNOC School, Sas al Nakhl, Abu Dhabi, UAE for an immediate start.
This position requires attention to detail, strong knowledge of UAE labor law, and the ability to manage complex HR processes while maintaining confidentiality and supporting a positive work culture.
ADNOC Schools are Massachusetts State Curriculum schools in superb facilities in Abu Dhabi City and the Western Region of Abu Dhabi Emirate.
Job Purpose:
- Assist the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) with staff investigations and disciplinary processes, maintaining confidential records.
- Provide advice, counsel and guidance to employees on relevant issues and escalate to SLT and Head of School.
- Manage and oversee all legal cases concerning ADNOC Schools by collaborating with the ADNOC Legal department.
- Ensure that all cases comply with the provisions of UAE labor law.
- Offer guidance and recommendations regarding appropriate disciplinary actions, including issuing warnings, to ensure compliance with UAE labor law and ADNOC Schools policies.
- Provide support to SLT in managing informal ER cases in accordance with group-wide policies and standards.
- Coordinate the school’s probationary processes in accordance with group-wide policies and processes.
- Coordinate performance review and appraisal cycles in accordance with group-wide policies and processes to support the SLT in achieving a high-performance culture.
- Track and provide reports to HQ HR on all key performance cases.
- Health and Life Insurance applications, additions, renewals, cancelations and associated management for all school staff.
- Management and reporting of staff time and attendance, including managing the time and attendance systems and sending monthly report to the line manager.
- Managing all type employees’ leaves application.
- Responsible for issuing Salary Certificates, and other relevant staff letters (e.g. Bank, Government, Immigration, experience letters etc.).
- Process exiting staff as leavers and ensure all associated exit procedures are completed, including liaison with payroll for the calculations of full and final settlements, and associated housing close-out procedures.
- Maintain up to date confidential employment records and staff files on site with Administrator’s assistance.
- Maintaining HR systems and ensuring they accurately reflect the staffing within the school.
- Participate in group-wide HR meetings in order to share knowledge, best practice and to ensure consistency within group standards.
- Coordinate with ADNOC Medical pertaining to fitness assessment of ADNOC Schools Secondee employee.
- Processed employee benefits and allowance and ensures comply with the statutory regulation/policies.
- Any other duties as reasonably expected.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or Psychology.
- 6 years’ experience in a related field.
- Education industry experience preferable.
Job Specific Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of UAE Labour Law.
- Competent using IT systems, including Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook.
- Strong organizational and prioritisation skills.
- Experience liaising with government bodies in the UAE as well as a working knowledge of HAAD and Immigration requirements and processes.
- Proficient in both written and oral communication skills in English and Arabic.
- Attention to detail with diligent follow up, and able to execute in a timely manner.
- Skilled in multi-tasking and handling pressure.
- Organizational ability, of self and others.
- Forethought and forward planning (particularly as this relates to local Government compliance matters).
- Capable of influencing people and talented in networking with cultural sensitivity.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
