The Emergency Physician is responsible for providing immediate medical care to patients presenting with urgent medical conditions and injuries. They triage patients, stabilize critical conditions, and initiate appropriate treatments. The Emergency Physician collaborates with the emergency room team to ensure efficient patient flow and quality care delivery.
Responsibilities
Assess and triage patients in the emergency department based on severity of condition.
Provide immediate medical care and treatment for various urgent medical conditions and injuries.
Perform emergency medical procedures, such as intubation, chest tube insertion, and wound suturing.
Coordinate with specialty physicians for consultation and referral as necessary.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory tests and imaging studies.
Monitor and manage patients' response to treatments and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Document patient care activities and maintain accurate medical records.
Collaborate with the emergency room team to ensure efficient patient flow and timely care.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality measures.
Stay updated with advancements in emergency medicine and participate in continuing medical education.
Minimum Requirements
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
Board certification in Emergency Medicine.
Valid medical license to practice.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in emergency medicine.
Strong clinical skills and ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
