Emergency Medical Technician

Responsibilities:

• Ensures both personnel and vehicle readiness and availability to respond to accidents, sudden illnesses, or emergencies.
• Responds to medical emergency calls, drives to the scene, and provides basic life support to victims before they are transported to the hospital.
• Evaluates the nature and extent of illness/injury to determine the right course of action. Conducts patient assessment, including interpretation of ECG.
• Provides medical aid such as AED, CPR, prevents spinal damage, ventilation, controls severe bleeding, prevents shock, bandages wounds, etc., to stabilize the condition.
• Administers activated charcoal, oral glucose, and oxygen.
• Constantly assesses the patient en route to the emergency facility, administering additional care as indicated or directed by medical control.
• Maintains vehicles and medical and communication equipment, replenishing first-aid equipment and supplies.
• Restocks all supplies in the ambulance and replaces used blankets, linens, and other supplies.
• Cleans all equipment following appropriate disinfecting protocols.
• Continuously reassures the patient en route to the emergency facility.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• A graduate of an internationally recognized EMT – Basic course or equivalent with a minimum 4 weeks duration and valid BLS Certification.
• At least two (2) years of experience.
• Currently licensed in the country of origin and with DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
• Fluent in spoken & written English; Arabic language is desirable, but not essential.
