Electro Mechanical Engineer

Perform quality servicing and repairs on all electronics systems and devices to return them to manufacturer's specifications.

Job Accountabilities:

1. Receive work and Job Card from the workshop supervisor.
2. Carries out diagnosis on faults, checks the parameters, and analyses the defect.
3. By receiving the job card, perform each requirement and tick and sign the checklist upon completion of work.
4. Rectify the defect and fix it in the time allowed. In the event of complications, refer the matter to the workshop supervisor.
5. Search for information in the available documentation (technical manuals, repair booklets).
6. Identify additional work and non-conformances. Rapidly communicate them to the Workshop Supervisor and write them down on the Job Card.
7. Ensure the presentation of the equipment, including resetting of equipment and accessories, and cleanliness.
8. If any parts are required, inform the Workshop Supervisor.
9. Apply the manufacturer's directives and safety rules.
10. Tidy up and clean the work area, and all the tools used (individual or collective).
11. Maintain the stock of tools and keep them in proper condition.
12. Perform all activities in compliance with the Company’s QHSEMS and as per the assigned specific responsibilities.
13. Carry out any additional tasks assigned (in line with qualifications and ability) by the line manager.

Qualifications & Education:

High-school degree / ITI certification.

Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar profile within commercial vehicle and heavy equipment.

Knowledge & Skills:

Working knowledge of English and understanding the uses of modern diagnostic equipment.

1. Electrical Systems Knowledge:
   • Wiring and Circuits: Understanding electrical circuits, wiring, and components (motors, sensors, and electrical panels) and how to safely and efficiently work with them.
   • Troubleshooting Electrical Issues: Diagnosing and fixing electrical faults, including using tools like multimeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
   • Power Systems: Knowledge of power distribution, electrical loads, and electrical safety regulations (e.g., grounding, circuit protection).
   • Automation Systems: Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation technologies that control machinery and processes.
2. Mechanical Systems Knowledge:
   • Mechanical Assembly: Assembling and disassembling mechanical systems such as engines, pumps, and conveyors.
   • Mechanical Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and repairing mechanical failures (e.g., broken components, misalignments, wear and tear).
   • Fluid Mechanics: Understanding the operation of hydraulic or pneumatic systems used in machinery and equipment.
   • Preventive Maintenance: Performing regular inspections and maintenance on mechanical systems to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of machinery.
3. Maintenance and Repair:
   • Preventive Maintenance: Regularly inspecting and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal functioning.
   • System Calibration: Ensuring that electrical and mechanical systems are calibrated properly and operating within specified parameters.
   • Repair and Replacement: Replacing faulty electrical and mechanical parts, such as motors, switches, or mechanical linkages.
   • Diagnostic Tools: Using diagnostic tools to test and identify faults in electrical and mechanical systems, such as thermographic cameras or vibration analyzers.
4. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:
   • Critical Thinking: Analyzing and solving complex issues that arise in machinery or systems, often requiring both electrical and mechanical understanding.
   • Fault Diagnosis: Using diagnostic techniques to identify the source of mechanical or electrical failures and providing solutions.
