Job description
Key Accountabilities:
- Carry out electrical preventive maintenance service (PMS) of equipment as per various maintenance packages within the time frame.
- Report to foremen or team leader any defects found.
- Attend breakdown of equipment at site and provide feedback to superiors after work completion.
- Dismantle components of equipment and provide feedback to foreman about work progress and parts requirements.
- Maintain good working relationships with workers, appointed foreman, supervisors, and management.
- Ensure materials are of required standard prior to use, reporting damages when necessary.
- Basic servicing of batteries and charging.
- Rewiring of equipment.
- Attend any training required by the department.
- Maintain good housekeeping of the work area, especially after completing the job.
Experience / Qualification & Skills:
- Basic knowledge to read and understand various equipment manuals.
- Working experience with shipyard equipment such as cherry pickers, forklifts, side loaders, transporters, and straddle carriers.
- Able to read and understand the digital display of equipment and make necessary adjustments where applicable.
- Basic knowledge of electrical and electronic circuit diagrams.
- Able to service starter motors and alternators.
- Basic knowledge of working with ECM controlled machines, electronic cards, and diagnostic equipment analyzers.
- 1 Year Technical Certificate – Electrical Auto, Electronic & Instrumentation.
- High school/Industrial/Vocational training or Shipyard training.
- 1 year or more of plant equipment experience in a shipyard.
