Job description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team at Hyatt Place Jumeirah Dubai, a prestigious 4-star property. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing electrical systems throughout the hotel, ensuring that all electrical equipment functions efficiently and meets safety standards. This role involves regular inspections, repair work, and collaborating with other departments to provide high-quality service for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance, inspection, and repair of electrical systems within the hotel, including lighting, power distribution, backup power systems (e.g., generators), and emergency systems (e.g., fire alarms).
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults, equipment malfunctions, and system failures, ensuring swift and effective resolutions with minimal disruption to hotel operations.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment or systems, as well as upgrading existing systems to meet operational needs and compliance standards.
  • Ensure that all electrical systems comply with local regulations, safety codes, and hotel standards. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Monitor energy consumption and implement energy-saving measures across the property. Suggest improvements for efficient energy usage without compromising guest experience.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for electrical systems, including periodic checks and testing of electrical panels, lighting, and equipment.
  • Work closely with other departments (Housekeeping, F&B, Front Office) to ensure seamless operations and address any electrical issues that may impact guest services.
  • Act as a first responder to electrical emergencies or power outages, ensuring rapid response and effective solutions to maintain safety and operational continuity.
  • Maintain detailed records of electrical maintenance and repair activities, equipment performance, and any issues that may arise, reporting to the Chief Engineer or Hotel Management as needed.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior engineering staff or contractors working on electrical systems, ensuring quality work and adherence to safety protocols.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, preferably in the hospitality or commercial sector.
  • Experience with hotel electrical systems, including lighting, HVAC systems, and backup generators, is highly preferred.
