Electrical Technician

To provide effective maintenance and repair services covering electrical installations within Data Center IT rack rooms (whitespace).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance activities and modifications on whitespace electrical IT systems/supplies.
2. Calibration checking of system sensors.
3. Performing statutory maintenance testing and checks within the IT rooms including electrical distribution, redundant power supplies.
4. Electrical fault finding and fault diagnosis, functional testing, tripping circuits, MCCB, MCB, lighting and small power. Repair and replacement of electrical circuit components.
5. Ensuring good working order and PPM of Electrical lighting and IT power supplies.
6. Use of electrical test equipment, multimeters, IR meters, infra red camera etc.
7. Commissioning and testing of power supplies upto 100A.
8. First Line Response to help desk calls for failure/breakdown of IT rack power supplies.
9. Ensure all works are carried in line with Company Procedures and Policies, Health and Safety, Control of Hazardous materials, in line with COSHH regulations and PPE.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

1. Good analytical skills, fault finding skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.
2. Change electrical fittings like for like, power socket, MCB, MCCB, cables etc.
3. Knowledge of operation/PPM of LV distribution systems.
4. Manually lift 25kG weight.
5. Ability to read, write and speak in English.
6. Proficiency in use of computer - Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must have at least 2 years work experience carrying out hard services maintenance work within Data Center environment or commercial building services environment.
2. Must hold recognised Apprenticeship/Diploma applicable for electrical building services systems.
3. IPAF licence for boom/scissor lift operations preferable.
4. UAE driving licence preferable.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

1. Ability to work independently.
2. Follow electrical safe working procedures.
3. Flexibility in work time.

Candidate with Data center experience, experience working with testing electrical circuits.
