Job Description: An Electrical Site Manager for High Voltage (HV) Substations to oversee the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of HV substation projects. His role ensures the safe, timely, and cost-effective execution of work according to project specifications and standards.

Desired Candidate Profile:

1. Manage and oversee all on-site activities related to HV substation construction and maintenance.
2. Ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and technical standards.
3. Monitor progress and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.
4. Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and regulations.
5. Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and toolbox talks with site teams.
6. Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and codes.
7. Coordinate the installation and commissioning of electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and control systems.
8. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on-site.
9. Liaise with engineers, consultants, and suppliers to ensure quality and technical compliance.
10. Lead and supervise site teams, including contractors, technicians, and laborers.
11. Schedule and assign tasks to ensure smooth workflow.
12. Provide training and guidance to site personnel as required.
13. Serve as the point of contact between the site and project managers, engineers, and clients.
14. Prepare and present progress reports, including daily, weekly, and monthly updates.
15. Address client concerns and ensure satisfaction with project outcomes.
16. Maintain detailed project records, including site logs, drawings, and testing reports.
17. Ensure all work complies with national and international electrical standards, such as IEC or IEEE.
18. Facilitate inspections and approvals from regulatory authorities.
19. Conduct regular quality checks on materials and workmanship.
20. Ensure all equipment is installed, tested, and commissioned to meet operational standards.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
2. Proven experience in managing HV substation projects, typically 5+ years.
3. Strong knowledge of HV equipment, systems, and layouts.
4. Familiarity with protective relays, SCADA systems, and power distribution.
5. Understanding of HSE standards and electrical codes (e.g., NFPA, IEC, NEC).
6. Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate site operations effectively.
7. Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
8. Proficiency in project management tools and software.
9. Valid certifications for working in HV environments (if required, e.g., safety permits).
