Electrical - Senior Technician

Minimum Qualifications:

• Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
• 6 to 8 years of experience in Operating and Maintaining Electrical Equipment’s comprising of High Voltage and Medium Voltage Switchgears, Medium Voltage and Low Voltage -VFDS and SS, UPS and Battery Charger and LV Control Panels etc.

Job Description:

Carries out preventive and breakdown maintenance for all assigned electrical equipment, as tasked by the supervisor in compliance with the Work Order Force -SAP system in the most efficient duration to ensure minimal downtime. Execution is done First Time Right in a safe, efficient and effective manner.

Provide extensive support in carrying out installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment (High Voltage / Medium Voltage / Low Voltage) such as Switchgears, Circuit Breakers, Transformers, VFD, SS, UPS, Battery Charger, LV Control panels, etc.

Maintenance Strategy

1. Provide necessary information and feedback to Supervisors when required.

Preventive Maintenance

1. Perform preventive maintenance for the electrical equipment in plants according to established schedule and maintenance cycle.
2. Communicate major maintenance requirements to the supervisor to schedule corrective maintenance within the suggested timeframe.

Corrective Maintenance

1. Respond to faults and failures reported in plants through the work order system; visit sites to inspect, troubleshoot, and correct the fault as per supervisor instructions.

Electrical Job Requirements

1. Provide extensive support and coordination to specialists to test, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical equipment.
2. Carry out duties as per standards and under the guidance of the site supervisor.
3. Be available on call for 24x7 service emergency needs and shutdown activities.
4. Be responsible for the safe custody and maintenance of equipment, tools, spare parts, and materials provided by the Company.
5. Notice problems and develop options for potential solutions.
6. Ability to read as-built and electrical schematic drawings with excellence in troubleshooting skills.
7. Active involvement in new projects, upgrades, and retrofit works.
8. Follow proper PTW/work order and required procedures before any maintenance.

Execution of the Maintenance Schedule

1. Support Supervisor/Specialist for execution of all plant’s maintenance activities.
2. Execute daily work review and work assignments along with the team as per schedule.
3. Effective job execution and result-oriented.
4. Establish successful communication/feedback with Supervisor/Specialist.
5. Resolve emergencies based on instructions from the Supervisor/Specialist.

Contractor Management

1. Supervise contractor’s works at site and provide feedback on contractor performance to supervisor.

Reporting

1. Ensure the system is updated at the end of every day related to works and work orders.
2. Feed required information through service reports to ensure an updated system at all times.

Learning & Improvement

1. Provide necessary information and feedback about learning and improvement to supervisor as required.

Budget & Control

1. Ensure works are completed within the planned timeframe keeping in mind the cost and yearly budget.

Health, Safety, Environment and Quality

1. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental management policies.
2. Support and ensure adherence to the Company’s IMS policies and guidelines.

Team Development & Training

1. Ensure competency gaps are identified and propose training requirements.

1. Follow all relevant Department/Unit policies, processes, and standard operating procedures.

Internal Communication

1. Ongoing communication with the supervisor on maintenance issues.
2. Adhoc communication with Supervisor on unresolved issues.

External Communication

1. Active follow-up of contractor in line with Supervisor.
