JOB OBJECTIVES:
• Receive and act general guidance, objectives and some specific work assignments from the Engineering Manager.
• Act as the technical authority and focal point for engineering issues related to electrical engineering.
• Coordinate among design team with COMPANY's discipline engineering professionals.
• Lead the electrical team to complete the relevant design independently with sufficient technical level and coordination ability.
• Be good at communicating and coordinating function as the alternate to the Engineering Manager in the event of the Engineering Manager's absence during the engineering and procurement stages.
• Take the responsibility for process engineering throughout the engineering, procurement, construction installation and commissioning stages.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Receive and act work arrangement and in conjunction with the Electrical Chief Engineer assigns priorities.
• Lead the electrical department to complete the approval of all design documents (SLD/Load list/Philosophy/Specification/Datasheet/Calculation report/Cable schedule/TBE/MR/MTO, etc.).
• Review and identify electrical design for completeness and coherence.
• Identify potential errors, omissions or risks in the design basis and participate in preparation of design.
• Identify problems needing the involvement of Process Chief Engineer, define and organize necessary discussion require Electrical Chief Engineer involvement.
• Review process design and make recommendations for improvement.
• Attend/Chair all design review events (HAZID, HAZOP, Peer Reviews, etc.) with Project Management team and COMPANY.
• Quality control of the electrical team.
• Support the project control to prepare plans and schedules.
• Analyze and/or review the Electrical discipline progress reports against the schedule and inform of any foreseeable delay.
• Chair the technical workshop and technical reviewing meeting with COMPANY.
• Coordinate with COMPANY and EPC Contractor in reviewing issues. Close all the technical comments (document review comments/HAZOP comments, etc.) with COMPANY team.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
• Minimum Bachelor degree of major in Electrical Engineering and Automation. An advance degree in engineering is preferable.
• Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in Project Engineering and/or construction, including five (5) years’ experience as an Engineering Lead of facilities/project engineering at EPCI phase.
• Extensive familiarity with the applicable standards (API, ASME, ISO, IEC, IEEE standard, if familiar with Total standards is preferable).
• Extensive familiarity with the power system calculation software (ETAP, etc.).
• Extensive familiarity with power system operation in all cases, including normal, emergency, start-up, shut down, etc.
• Good team membership and forthcoming to support the section with additional task requests as necessary.
• Proactive and positive attitude willing to closely follow up and push issues to a successful resolution.
• Strong analytical, tactical and strategic thinking skills with a bias towards action.
• Self-Starter with strong work ethic, and great time management and communication skills.
• Excellent English interpersonal, written, and communications skills. International project engineering experience is mandatory.
