Electrical Engineer M/F

We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Middle East LLC Abu Dhabi for an Electrical Engineer.

Job Purpose:

This position is a unique opportunity to work with DEWA and be involved in the installation & commissioning of 132 / 11 kV transmission substations, and 11kV Distribution substation equipment by organizing commissioning and installation activities in coordination with DEWA sections, departments, contractors/consultants with an objective of achieving commissioning targets.

Your main duties will be to:

1. Conduct site visits for 132 / 11kV substations before commencing distribution equipment such as 11kV Switchgear, capacitor bank, and cables for new projects.
2. Assist in verification of drawing submittals related to 11kV substation equipment and review 11kV equipment design, providing comments for processing dispatch.
3. Monitor project execution and liaise with contractors and DEWA sections to ensure timely completion of work, ensuring compliance with DEWA procedures and standards.
4. Check the healthiness of the equipment and the distribution system through equipment tests and relay tests before commissioning substations, and coordinate with Asset Management and Stores for the return of substation equipment.
5. Prepare all relevant technical reports regarding work completion before forwarding them to the planning section and other departments of DEWA.
6. Ensure that commissioned substations are formally handed over to the Distribution Asset Management department after completion of works for maintenance.
7. Arrange inter-sectional & inter-departmental meetings, as well as meetings with consultants/contractors to resolve work-related issues and contribute to efficient work planning and execution.
8. Assist in preparing unit-level budget and ensure optimum utilization of the same.
9. Assist in the achievement of unit-level KPIs.
10. Ensure non-disclosure of confidential information to anyone within or outside the Authority during or after employment in DEWA.
11. Follow and adhere to the OH&S Management System Manual as per DEWA's safety standards.
12. Perform any other tasks as assigned by the reporting manager.

Profile:

Ideally, you will have graduated in Electrical Engineering (Bachelor or Diploma) with a minimum of 7 years of experience in installation & commissioning of 132 / 11 kV transmission substations.

You will be able to coordinate with Distribution Power - Projects & Engineering, Tendering and Engineering, Distribution Protection Maintenance, and Distribution Asset Management sections.

You are fluent in English.

You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as a good level of computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
